Bronze struck medal with obverse showing clothed three-quarter bust-length portrait of Washington after Gilbert Stuart. Obverse depicts frontal view of colonial building at top with inscription below: "'WASHINGTON HALL'/NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR 1939/ERECTED TO COMMEMORATE/THE 150TH ANNIVERSARY/OF THE INAUGURATION OF/GEORGE WASHINGTON/AS FIRST PRESIDENT OF THE U.S./BY MESSMORE KENDALL/PRES.-GEN.S.A.R." Square golden yellow cardboard fitted case bottom with blue silk velvet lining.
