Description: 
Medium blue wool militia Captain's trousers with white wool stripe down the side of each leg; button fly with 3 plastic buttons and a tab to the left beneath the waistband to fasten to ivory button inside, waistband has metal hook and eye fastener, slit pockets behind strips on each each side, 2 rear pockets, 2 straps beneath waistband with rectangular metal buckle with double-tongued chape; waistband lined with white silk with blue pin stripes, interior ivory suspender buttons, pockets lined with white linen.

These dress trousers were part of a uniform worn by Captain Sidney Gilbert De Kay, who was in the New York State militia. The Society also owns the matching dress coat and sword belt to this uniform.
