Description:
Dark blue Infantry Inspector General's dress trousers with a black stripe down each side of the legs; 6 button fly with lower 5 buttons hidden, top button exposed, 4 buttons around the waistline (no waistband); horizontal slit pockets at the front at each hip; waistline and pockets lined with twill-weave cotton; stirrups button to the inside of the leg hems.

These dress trousers are part of a uniform worn by Thomas Henry Barber (1844-1905) while he served as Inspector General to the State of New York, 1889-1892. The Society also owns the accompanying dress coat.
