Description:
Black wool officer's dress trousers with 1 7/8" gilt stripe down the side of each leg; 7 button fly, 5 buttons fasten at the center, 2 button fasten to a tab about 2/3 the way up the fly, there is also one hook and eye; 6 buttons around the waistband; left side watch pocket beneath the waistband, vertical slit side pockets behind the stripes, no rear pockets; at the center back of waistband is a blue silk maker's label insert in a V shape, written in Cyrillic, 2 straps below the waistband at the back which buckle at the center to a metallic blue buckle with double-tongued chape, straps lined with brown linen; black wool stirrups at the bottom of each leg; waist lined with black satin, pockets lined with peach-colored twill-weave silk.

These trousers were worn by Colonel Montgomery Schuyler (1877-1955) while he served as Councillor of Embassy in St. Petersburg, Russia, from 1907-1901.
