Description:
Dark blue wool Naval officer's 4-pocket dress waistcoat with 6 buttons down the front, buttons cast with eagle perched on an anchor encircled by stars; back made of brown cotton, with 2 straps at the waist originally meant to buckle at the center (buckle missing); lined with white cotton.

This waistcoat is part of a uniform worn by George Elmore Ide. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1861-1901.
