Description:
Cream-colored gabardine Naval Ensign's uniform skirt which buttons and zips at the left side; front has 2 false pockets, front and back both made in 3 panels.

This skirt is part of a W.A.V.E.S. uniform worn by Naval Ensign Mary Jane Natto. "W.A.V.E.S." stands for "Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service." The branch was formed for the Navy during World War II, around 1942. The Society owns the remaining items to this uniform, as well as an additional complete W.A.V.E.S. uniform.
