On the reverse is an inscription by the artist: "W. H. Wallace lived in Main St. when a child of 6 or 7 years. His home was in the center or shaded house. The block stood between Prospect and Jay Streets, and was demolished in 1875 or 6 for the [Brooklyn] Bridge."
