Description:
Rosewood Elizabethan Revival side chair; spindle-back with crest rail carved with scrolls and foliage; horseshoe-shaped seat upholstered over the rail with grid-patterned textile; carving on skirt similar to carving on crest rail; turned, outswept front legs and plain, slightly outswept rear legs joined by a single turned stretcher in front, two plain, slender stretchers on either side, and one plain, slender stretcher in back.

According to information provided by the donor, this chair once belonged to the Mott family of Albany, New York, and originally came from England.
