Description:
Olive drab wool enlisted man's Army Signal Service double-breasted overcoat; double collar and shallow lapels; shoulder loops with metal buttons at the collar end; 3 plastic buttons down each side of the front; closed sleeves (no cuffs), both sleeves have a patch at the shoulder, with 2 chevrons above a triangle and 2 stripes, left sleeve has Signal Service patch above, right wrist has a circle of crossed branches, left wrist has 5 horizontal gold bars; vertical pocket at each hip; 2 panels at the back, with 2 straps at the waist which fasten at the center with 2 plastic buttons; all buttons cast with the Great Seal of the U.S.; bodice, sleeves and pockets lined with brown twill-weave cotton.

This overcoat was worn by Charles T. Miller during World War II. He served with the 162nd Signal Photo Company (later the 3908 Signal Service Battalion, Photo General Headquarters, Headquarters of the European Theater of Operations (London and Paris), U.S. Army. The Society also owns other items of Miller's uniforms.
