Description:
This terra cotta clay paperweight has a shamrock on the top with the letters ASME in the leaves surrounded by the words "St. Louis, Mo./ May 1896". On the bottom in the center is a symbol with the words "American Society of Mechanical Engineers/ 12 W. 31 St. N.Y." and surrounding the symbol "St. Louis, Mo. / May 1896/ Washed Pot Clay/ Christy Fire Clay Co." With original red cardboard box and advertising insert discussing American Society of Mechanical Engineers 33rd annual convention in 1896 and the clay company products.
