Description: 
Parasol with wooden ferrule, ivory silk shade with white painted metal ribs with brass points, and wooden shaft; detachable wooden handle with porcelain grip and ball pommel, the grip with painted cupid and gold diaper pattern and the pommel with diapering and initials "EBW" in gold.
Gallery Label: 
The initials on the handle refer to Emily Braem Warren, the donor. According to Ms. Warren, the porcelain handle was painted for her by Herr Lamm, head painter of the Meissen factory, in 1895.
