Gallery Label:
A handwritten label on the back of the portrait identifies the subject only as "Miss Brewster." She is thought to be Pauline Brewster, daughter of Edward Lester Brewster (1842-1911), an investment banker of Chicago, and of Mary Helen (Niles) Brewster. If correctly identified, she subsequently married I. Newton Perry of Chicago (d. 1942).
