Description: 
Fragment of red linen taken from flag which flew over Fort Sumter, South Carolina, at the beginning of the Civil War, and fragment of wood from Fort Sumter flagstaff.
Gallery Label: 
These Civil War relics were accompanied by a photograph and autograph of General Robert Anderson, who was the commander of Fort Sumter at the beginning of the Civil War. They were donated by Anderson's daughter around 1933.
