Fragments of first Confederate flag; two wool fragments, one red, one blue, stitched to card with handwritten inscription.

These flag fragments are supposedly from the first Confederate flag used in Montgomery, Alabama. The Confederate States of America, formed in 1861, had their government headquarters in Montgomery.
