Description:
Piece of wooden siding from building in North Castle, Westchester County, New York, in which Major André, a British spy, was confined; paper with inscription nailed to surface of board.
Gallery Label:
Major André, a British spy and accomplice of Benedict Arnold, was captured in late 1780.
