Description:
A dark blue pinback campaign button with a color enhanced photo lithographic portrait of a balding man encircled by white stars with the caption "For President Wm. J. Bryan". William Jennings Bryan (1860-1925) was a lawyer, Congressional Representative from Nebraska, Secretary of State (1913-1915), and a candidate for the presidency in the 1896, 1900 and 1908 elections, acting as a major proponent of monetary reform and the silver standard, as well becoming a very public proponent of religious fundamentalism and activist against Darwinian evolution during the famous Scopes Trial in 1925.
