Description:
An ivory colored pinback campaign button with a central blue eagle encircled by "Dewey/ Hanley", from the 1942 New York Gubernatorial election in which Dewey was winner. Thomas Edmund Dewey (1902-1971) of Pawling, Dutchess County, N.Y.; U.S. District Attorney for the Southern District of New York, 1933; Governor of New York, 1943-55; defeated, 1938; candidate for President of the United States, 1944, 1948.
