Description:
A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "District Of Columbia", with a scene showing a statue monument and a classical female figure holding a tablet- perhaps Progress or Liberty- and the Capitol dome. Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. This button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
