Description:
A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "New Jersey", with a blue shield with three plows flanked by classical female figures, one holding a staff with a liberty cap, the other a cornucopia, over a banner "Liberty & Prosperity". Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. The reverse is printed "Sweet Caporal Cigarette", indicating that this button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
