Description:
A beige pinback button printed with a state seal, crest, symbol or motto from U.S. states and territories; marked "West Virginia", with a stone marked "June 20, 1863 flanked by a farmer with a plow and a miner with a pick over a banner in Latin "Montani Semper Liberi". Part of a series of pre-World War I United States state buttons; some of the region names are no longer current. This button was part of a series of collectible premiums given by tobacco and gum manufacturers.
