Description:
Nickel-plated copper pitcher; seamed, tapered cylindical body on a molded double-step foot; applied beaded band around the rim; short, triangular spout; hinged, domed lid with a short shell grop and a turned baluster finial; cast loop handle with foliate scroll decoration; body engraved, "ESCORT" in block letters; maker's mark stamped on the base.
Gallery Label:
This pitcher was used on the Hudson River steamboat "Escort," which later became the "Catskill" and the "City of Hudson."
