Description:
Set of 8 linen placemats (made in China); each piece is embroidered in various colors of silk floss in cross stitch; each mat depicts an historic New York image and a date, there are 4 different scenes, each depicted on a pair of mats; one pair shows a horse-drawn street car and "1898"; one pair shows a hansome cab and "1895"; one pair shows a ship and "1840"; the last pair shows a fire engine and "1800"; all are bordered with green zig-zag and flowers.
