Molded pearlware plate with dark blue transfer print of eulogy of De Witt Clinton; four reserves printed around rim with Erie Canal boats and images of the Canal; central well printed with text: "THE GRAND ERIE CANAL. A SPLENDID MONUMEMT OF THE ENTERPRISE & RESOURCE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK. INDEBTED FOR ITS EARLY COMMENCEMENT & RAPID COMPLETION TO THE ACTIVE ENERGIES, PREEMINENT TALENS, & ENLIGHTENED POLICY OF DE WITT CLINTON, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE."
