Military plume consisting of mostly white feathers and a few red feathers bound to a wooden shaft.

According to the accession records, this plume was worn by the donor's father, Jacob Janeway Van Nest (1835-1875). A related coat and cap (1935.42a and 1935.42b) are also in the N-YHS Collection.
