Description:
Gold pocket watch with enameled portrait and engraving on front of case; portrait of a woman enameled on front in an oval bordered by black enamel designs; red enamel in back with same black enamel border; oval pendant knob with oval bow; inscription and engraved belt on back of movement casing; white enamel dial with black roman numeral hours and minute markings; second aperture with second hand at VI; hour and minute hands; maker's inscription on dial. Wood case with inlaid borders; latch on front; hinged at back; velvet interior with cut-out mold for watch.

This watch belonged to the donor's great-grandmother, Gertrude Henkimer Eacker, daughter of Captain George Herkimer and Alide Schuyler Herkimer and cousin of General Philip Schuyler.
