Stage and film actress Josephine Hutchinson was born in Seattle, Washington. She established her reputation on the New York stage in the 1920s and early 30s before venturing to Hollywood in 1934. Her performance in the title role in the Civic Repertory Theater's 1932 production of "Alice in Wonderland," just prior to this shift in her career, was highly acclaimed by critics.
