Description:
Brown tooled leather purse (pocketbook) with a strap at the center of the top flap which wraps around the purse and slides under leather slits; when opened, each side contains a pocket.
Gallery Label:
This wallet belonged to Uriah Corning of Preston, Connecticut during his time in New York in the late 18th century. It appears to have been a tourist souvenir, as all sides have "New York" tooled in the leather.
