Description: 
Rectangular black leather Waves Naval Lieutenant's uniform purse, with adjustable leather strap, top flap has snap fastener at the center; inside lined with black ribbed synthetic fabric, back of inside has 3 pocket compartments of graduating size.
Gallery Label: 
This purse is part of a W.A.V.E.S. uniform. "W.A.V.E.S." stands for "Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service." The branch was formed for the Navy during World War II, around 1942. The Society owns the remaining items to this uniform, as well as an additional complete W.A.V.E.S. uniform.
