Cream silk memorial ribbon printed in black; depicts bust-length portrait of Lafayette within medallion surrounded by laurel wreath at center with inscription above: "TRADESMAN./37"; mourning female figure at left; clusters of American flags at either side; above is eagle with stars and stripes shield; tablet beneath inscribed "LA FAYETTE"; inscription below: "DIED 20th MAY/1834"; image of fire department engine beneath.
