Description:
Cream silk satin ribbon with black silk rosette, printed in black and hand-painted in gold; depicts shoulder-length portrait of Putnam inside an oval medallion surrounded by ornate cartouche; inscription above: 'HONORARY MEMBER"; below inscription on scroll: "PUTNAM/Founded/Aug. 13/1858/PHALANX" beneath is banderole imprinted with motto of the organization.
