Description:
Red silk ribbon badge with brass pin at top of bar stamped with decorative broder with brass balls at ends and five brass stationary rings around bar; ribbon printed in gold "VOLUNTEER/ FIREMEN'S/ ASSOCIATION/ NEW YORK CITY" with image of gold fireman at center; bottom of ribbon edged with gold metal fringe.
Gallery Label:
According to an envelope with the object, the original owner of the ribbon was John Moller, a member of the organization, who later presented it to his nephew, Charles G. Moller Jr., in April of 1917.
