The subject is probably Richard Sears, eldest son of Daniel Sears and Fear (Freeman) Sears of Chatham, Mass. He was a farmer, landowner, and storekeeper in Chatham, and also served as a coroner and justice of the peace. He was a Massachusetts state representative between 1780 and 1814, and a state senator in 1804.
