Description:
Metal ring with oval amber inset at the front; stone is carved with a sheath of wheat at the center, in front of a horizontal bow, with crossed arrow and branch; shoulders incised with geometric design, plain band.
Gallery Label:
A tag found with this ring says that it belonged to John Vaché Cox (1818-1882), eldest son of Dr. John Palmer and Emilie Vaché Cox. John Vaché Cox was employed by Prall and Ray, a wholesale drug firm in New York, before becoming a drug broker and mercantile broker.
