Description:
Gold ring (mourning?) with hair tied in a Turk's knot beneath rectangular oculus at the center, flanked by trapezoid shaped regions with acanthus leaf design and framed with black enamel; inscription on reverse of center.

According to the accession record, this ring belonged to John B. Newman and encases a lock of his hair.
