Description:
Circular ebony ring with plain band.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession record, this is one of rings given to nurse Caroline Cox by Union soldiers convalescing during the Civil War. A note with the ring identifies Anthony Gaines, and says he was "most likely killed in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia."
