Description:
Carved bone ring with plain band, oblong panel center front with cross set on its side.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession record, this ring was made by a Union soldier convalescing in a northern hospital during the Civil War, and was given to nurse Caroline Cox. A tag with the ring identifies John McEvoy as the maker, and says that he was a prisoner at Libby, Virginia.
