Carved bone ring with hollow band at the sides, heart at the center.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession record, this ring is part of a collection given to nurse Caroline Cox by Union soldiers convalescing during the Civil War. A note with this object identifies Edwin Cox, and says that he was "killed in the wilderness second day."
