Description:
Tin ring made from scrap metal at the Confederate prison in Andersonville, Georgia.

According to accession records, this ring was fashioned out of an artillery shell fragment by Simon Hulbert, a soldier with the 100th New York Infantry who died at the Confederate prison at Andersonville, Georgia on August 11, 1864.
