A gray-green tin lithographed sign printed on one side "Jefferson Insurance Company, of St. Louis, Mo./ Represented by/ D.B. Keeler, Jr./ Agent and Attorney, No. 168 Broadway, New York./ Capital,-$200,000./ A portion of your business is solicited." On the reverse is a detailed scene of children in a donkey cart crashing through a fence with the captions "Say Billy, get me insured quick, will you?", and "If I had a donkey & he would'nt go, I'd insure him and whallop him high & low." [sic]
