Description:
English style (no pommel knop) brown leather saddle with metal fittings; wooden stirrups hang from stirrups leathers on each side. Brown leather bridle with wide brow band attached to a large cast metal bit with "US" in circles along the jowls; leather reins attached to the bit.

This saddle and bridle were used during the Civil War by John Henry Garrison, Hospital Steward, Co. A, 1st New York Lincoln Cavalry.
