Red twill-weave wool felt Zouave sash; obverse is trimmed with light blue twill fabric tape around the outer edges, each end has a triangle.
Gallery Label: 
This sash is part of a Zouave uniform worn by David P. Davis during the Civil War. He served with the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, commonly called "Duryee's Zouaves." Davis served in the Peninsula Campaign under McClellan, the second Battle of Bull Run, Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville.
