Description:
Crimson silk jersey sash with tassels on each end.
Gallery Label:
This sash is part of a uniform worn by Noah L. Farnham in Washington August 14, 1861, when he died of wounds received at the Battle of Bull Run. He served as Lieutenant Colonel in the First New York Zouaves (11th New York State Volunteers) during the Civil War. His funeral was held August 17th at Christ Church on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
