Scarlet silk jersey sash with tassels on the ends.

According to the accession record, this sash was worn by the donors' grandfather, Abram Allen, when he served as 1st Lieutenant with the Battalion 9 of the Missouri Volunteers during the Mexican War, ca. 1847.
