Description: 
Olive drab wool service cap with brown leather visor and chin strap; gilded metal insignia plate consisting of shield-breasted eagle below banner and starburst applied to circular backing; buttons securing chin strap embossed with similar motif.

According to the accession records, this cap with worn by the donor, Charles T. Miller, during his army service in World War II. Miller enlisted as a private as rose to the rank of 1st-sergeant in the 162nd Signal Photo Co., which was later consolidated with the 3908 Signal Service Battalion, Photo GHQ (1943-1945), Headquarters of the European Theater of Operations (London and Paris).
