Description:
Olive drab wool service cap with brown leather visor and chin strap; gilded metal insignia plate consisting of shield-breasted eagle below banner and starburst; buttons securing chin strap decorated with similar motif.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, this cap was worn by First Lieutenant Lincoln T. Miller of the 207th Coast Artillery. Miller's overcoat, which he wore as a major, is also in the N-YHS Collection.
