Description:
Pair of infantry officer's shoulder knots; interlaced bronze-colored (originally gold?) braid, oblong in shape; circular patch at center with gold embroidered oak leaf on black ground, and gilded metal button at one end with "23" embossed at center and inscription, "VIGILANTIA / N.G.S.N.Y.," surrounding edge; black felt backing with lace ties and metal hook (missing from "e") for fastening.
