Description:
Pair of lieutenant colonel's shoulder knots with black pad with gilded metal insignia of the Inspector General's Department (sword and fasces, crossed and wreathed) between a pair of gold embroidered oak leaves; heavy gold braid, bordering pad and interlaced on strap; gilded metal button with shield-breasted eagle surrounded by stars; brass strap fastener; rectangular black painted metal storage box with hinged, flat-topped lid.
Gallery Label:
According to the accession records, these shoulder knots belonged to George Creighton Webb (1854-1948). Webb was commissioned colonel during the Spanish-American War.
