Description:
Pair of colonel's shoulder straps and three pieces of miscellaneous hardware; each rectangular strap with wide gold embroidered border framing silver embroidered eagle on black textile ground, and a cloth tie at each corner; two bar-shaped pieces of brass hardware with four holes pierced in elongated tab at each end; one kidney-shaped piece of brass hardware with numerous small holes and a small rectangular handle at center.
Gallery Label:
These shoulder straps were apparently worn by Colonel Julian McAllister (1823-1887) who served in the Mexican-American War, 1847-48, and the American Civil War, 1861-66.
