Description:
Pair of Lieutenant's shoulder straps; dark blue velvet ground across the center with metal thread embroidered bars at each end and border around.
Gallery Label:
A note found with these shoulder straps indicates that they belonged to A. H.[R?] Gallatin, the donor's grandfather. Gallatin served as Assistant Surgeon, U.S. Army, in 1862.
