Description:
Circular wooden snuffbox with tortoise shell lining; cover is carved with detailed scene of the Arche de Triumphe with figures in the foreground.
Gallery Label:
According to the donor, this piece was torn from the neck of an African warrior during the Matebele war and was given to a gentleman who later on gave it to the donor.
